2022.01.25 20:41 Warrior-Primal Five reasons you should join a martial art or combat sport

Joining a combat sport or a martial art is one of the best things you can do for your life. Here are the top 5 reasons why you should start training ASAP.

  1. It will build your Thumos. Thumos is an ancient Greek word that has no corresponding term in English, but it can be equated to your ‘Warrior’s spirit’ or that ‘fire in your belly’. Thumos is like a fire, and training in a martial arts or combat sport will spark and kindle that fire.
  2. It will make you more agile, coordinated, and sharper. Training and learning a complex sequence of movements such as a punching / kick combination is fantastic for increasing levels of brain derived neurotrophic factor, (BDNF) which is nicknamed ‘fertilizer of the brain’. You will become faster, physically and mentally.
  3. You will become a lean, mean, fat-burning machine. It will incinerate fat and build endurance and work capacity. A hard session on the pads or heavy bag is fantastic cardio, and the act of repeatedly hitting things strengthens your bones, joints and sinew. Training with an actual resisting person in something like sparring, wrestling or rolling will engage muscles you didn’t even know you had. I love seeing bodybuilders come to training for the first time and gas within one round. There is nothing like fighting that simulates fighting.
  4. It will make you less of a pansy. It will literally toughen you up, and help you resist the “great pussification’, the constant and ever-increasing domestication of man. It will make you realize getting punched in the face isn’t that big of a deal, and you will realize you are tougher than you think.
  5. It will help you build a ‘tribe’ of like-minded people, and is great for a sense of comradery and sportsmanship. Contrary to what many people think, combat sports gyms are home to some of the nicest and friendliest people. Getting tapped and beaten in sparring weeds out the wannabe tough guy gym bros, and ego’s usually get checked swiftly.
Every man should feel confident and capable in his ability to defend himself and his loved ones. A strong body begets a strong mind. Joining and training in a combat sport, and the knowledge that you can defend yourself with your own bare hands will bleed into other areas of your life, improving them all.
Cheers,
Warrior Primal.

2022.01.25 20:41 berrylakin Chapter 13, Michigan, Taxes

I had a son last June and in September I filed chap 13. We did not receive any advance child tax payments and 1 stimulus check is owed for my son as he was not born yet when they were issued.
I am married but the debts were all in my name and other then showing her income, my wife is not part of the bankruptcy.
My attorney at the time said come tax time we will have to pay 50% of our tax refund to the bankruptcy. That it was considered "my" portion of the return and my wife would keep her 50% portion regardless of how we file, joint or separate.
Now our tax person is saying that MY social security number is flagged and if we file joint the IRS will hold back the entire return, including the stim and child tax credit, and give it to the bankruptcy. We will get nothing.
This does not match what my attorney is saying and both my attorney and tax person are saying their information is correct.
I am inclined to listen to my lawyer but with such a large return want to be 100% sure.
Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Or experience with a tax return being sent directly to the trustee or sent to themselves?
Thanks

2022.01.25 20:41 alexandrajamez My (M23) GF (F22) Constantly tells me about other guys and I'm not sure what to think

My girlfriend is pretty emotional in general but she has also had to deal with the recent death of her father. Recently our relationship has also began to struggle. We had some trust issues in the past which eventually came out and were talked about them (they were from her contacting an ex). But for a long time after she would constantly tell me about things in the past, guys she'd kissed, outfits she'd also worn with other boyfriends, people she'd texted, in general all things from her past. I assumed she was just kind of venting from keeping a bigger secret from me for a while.
After her father passed things changed pretty drastically. She's gotten even more emotional and I completely understand, she started to feel extremely anxious about our relationship thinking every five minutes I was gonna break up with her. Things progressed from that to her starting to tell me things she's thinking about.

When I say she tells me everything, I mean she spills every thought she thinks. The thoughts have started to progress from I thought a guy was looking at me and what if he liked me, to What if this guy kissed me, to dreams of her being with someone else. It's honestly gotten to the point where if I touch her she tells me after she was trying not to think if she was single who would be doing this to her. She always feels horrible and kind of hates her self and I try to reassure her as best I can.

Initially I assumed she was venting and things just needed to get out, but now as time has passed I've began to feel as though maybe she's trying to tell me something. It's hard to decipher what's just random thoughts and what's a "sign". We have plenty of good moments where we talk laugh and have fun, but probably 5+ times a day she has a "bad thought" of her doing something.

We've been together 2 years.

2022.01.25 20:41 D_2number2 Stocks will hurt you more than they help

A physical stock may give you an initial boost in aiming ability, and it will feel good.
If you’re playing casually then it’s alright but if you’re really trying to get better, beware.
With a physical stock you lose so much versatility. You learn to rely on it. It’s bulky. Your reaction times won’t be as fast as those without a stock.
Stocks can be fun and if you have more fun unsung one then by all means do.
However if you’re wanting to genuinely get better at the game, do not think that you need a stock in order to improve or be able to beat those pesky league players.
Aiming at medium and long ranges is difficult at the beginning but you will get better and better the more you play.
You’ll barely even notice you’re improving until one day you realize you’re hitting headshots at 50 yards pretty often
Moral of the story: don’t look for the easy way to get a temporary boost in your skill. Practice on bots, learn from good players and be patient.

2022.01.25 20:41 ativa001 Fence?

Just joined the club of proud Craftsman 113 owners. Curious what the best aftermarket fence option is atm? I know Vega, Delta T3 and AccuSquare are popular. Any reason I should pick one in specific over the others?
The Vega has microadjust and bolts directly onto the table. Anything else that makes one of these stand out?
