Problems with my balanced output after ESD (Topping A50s)

2022.01.25 19:15 orangebeany Problems with my balanced output after ESD (Topping A50s)

So I have a Topping A50s, D50s, P50 stack used to power HD6xx with a balanced 4.4mm hart audio cable. I reach to adjust my volume and accidentally touch the mini xlr and got a pretty big zap. Immediately got a big pop in the headphones and then sound was all static. I’ve let it rest about an hour and now there isn’t any static sound on the balanced output but there is a big pop every time it powers on or off. The sound is also super empty like I am missing some of the low end of the song. Using the single ended output and everything seems fine. Music is as expected and no popping on power on/off. Wondering if I have toasted the balanced circuitry and what my options may be? Has anyone experienced anything similar on the A50s?
Thanks for your feedback in advance.

2022.01.25 19:15 greenatrium24 AP or dual enrollment?

so im a freshman in hs in washington state, and i want to do classes that count for college credit/just get ahead in general. but im not sure which one to do? i also know vaguely about CLEP, but from my understanding its most similar to taking AP courses
another thing to mention would be location. i live pretty far away (multiple hours) from any colleges/uni so taking any kind of course in person would be a problem

2022.01.25 19:15 GenoCuddy ROBERT J. HORNER: Legless Director of "Z" Grade Westerns.

I have not seen this name anywhere on Reddit so I must be the torch carrier here. Robert J. Horner was a notorious filmmaker in the silent and early sound era, he specialized in bottom-of-the-barrel B-Westerns that were quite poor even by the standards of the genre.
Horner came from a difficult family life, his father left his family and pilfered $500 from them, additionally Horner lost his legs while playing on a train track at seven years old. If that wasn't enough, he was brutally abused at a home for crippled children to the point where even his stumps had to be amputated. This led Horner to invent an early version of a motorized wheelchair to transport himself.
Horner started producing films during the silent era, utilizing the talents of such bottom-rung stars as Buddy Roosevelt, Buffalo Bill, Jr, Jack Perrin and Ted Wells. He also filmed some of the final westerns of once-popular Art Acord, whom committed suicide by taking cyanide in 1929. Not many of Horner's silent westerns survive to peruse so I will mainly focus on his sound output.
If Horner is to be commended for anything, it is the fact that he was among the earliest filmmakers on "poverty row" to transition to sound filmmaking with the 1930 film The Apache Kid's Escape with Jack Perrin. Incidentally, the sound engineer on the film was the notorious Dwain Esper of Maniac fame. This film is marred by a threadbare soundtrack and questionable acting decisions (the interplay between Perrin and the child heroine is sleazy), however it sports an impressive stunt where Perrin rides his horse off a dangerously high cliff in to a body of water.
Horner's other films of note are the equally threadbare The Border Menace, considered to be the worst B-Western ever made and The Phantom Cowboy, both produced for Nathan Hirsch's Aywon Films, one of the lowest of the low budget studios.
The Border Menace (1934) and The Phantom Cowboy (1935) both boast the unfortunate presence of Jimmy Aubrey as the comical sidekick, Polecat Pete (or Ptomaine Pete in The Phantom Cowboy). Aubrey, a friend of Chaplin and Laurel, was the most spectacularly untalented "comedian" to ever grace the silver screen. Initially a silent comic, he eventually became a bit player in "B" movies, I spotted him in a few Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto films made at Fox. Aubrey is an incorrigible, overacting ham whom would make such personalities as Harold Huber blush. Whereas cowboys like Bill Cody and Ted Wells are absolutely wooden, Aubrey has such a bombast that makes him embarrassing to watch. Loud, over-the-top and cringeworthy are terms used to describe Aubrey.
Additionally, The Phantom Cowboy sees the main protagonists running around the countryside in their underwear for the first reel of film, a dreary sight, especially when the slovenly Aubrey is concerned.
Horner was an unscrupulous filmmaker, he would place classified advertisements in newspapers appealing to aspiring actors and actresses to donate money to the production of his films in exchange for a role in the film. As soon as Horner would receive this funding, he would vanish without a trace to some unknown location to produce his guttural epics, leaving these actors in the red and without employment. Additionally, Jack Perrin was robbed of half of his intended earnings and took Horner to court to retrieve his remaining wages.
Horner is byfar the worst filmmaker I have come in to contact with, far worse than the "bad movie" poster child, Ed Wood. Wood had a passion for filmmaking and Horner's productions make Wood's look like De Mille by comparison. These films are structurally unsound (The Border Menace is supposed to be told in flashback, but the narrative is framed so poorly that this is not clear on first viewing), the acting is dreadful (even the great George Cheseboro can't prop up the dead horse of The Border Menace) and as with most B-Westerns of the era, has no soundtrack to speak of (it wasn't until Republic Pictures began production that there was much consideration for post-production work).
Horner, and his contemporary Victor "Denver Dixon" Adamson, were the bottom-of-the-barrel as far as filmmakers of the 20th century. I may write about Adamson if such an analysis is welcomed here.

2022.01.25 19:15 Standard-Weakness-19 Meta?

I didn't think the meta would have shaken up this much when first hearing about the patch tbh. But here I am like diamond 3 facing against reno decks, even warrior, mechathun warlock, token DH and other fun stuff. I know this is always the face, then some time after a meta develops, but very satisfied.
So just wondering what the top decks are gonna be in ur opinion. I would have to go with pirate warrior, probaly some kind of shudder shaman, maybe reno priest come back? Idk tbh.

2022.01.25 19:15 Haligonita Has anyone here done the Explore program (Canadian French summer program)?

I'm wondering how old you were when you went, and if you felt out of place at all (and what location you went to). I'm 25 and a bit worried I'll feel lost in a sea of 18-21 year olds.
I have to do a summer session because of my course schedule which I hear tends to run younger, so any experiences would be appreciated.

2022.01.25 19:15 twin_types Will the current labor zeitgeist result in violence?

NOTE: This post is in no way inciting, calling for or fetishing voilence. Quite the opposite; it'd be optimal to avoid it at all costs. I think these conversations are more and more necessary as our timeline elapses.
I'm not a historian but basic history shows us that these types of wealth and labor situations eventually lead into bloodshed. How can we avoid this? What is the current situation? Here are a few points most probably know:

The list goes on and on....
How can we, as a society fed-up of feeling fleeced at every turn, rise up without also raising our rifles? What can we collectively do in mass numbers, simultaneously and with sufficient vigor, to produce lasting change in our favor? I'd like to emphasize lasting change here because the current strategy of quitting bullshit jobs and finding better work, while admirable and worth pursuing in its own right, will likely fail to produce the change we desire long term. There's simply too much capital in the hands of a few and within corporate coffers for those in power to feel truly threatened into change. True, screwing over a bad boss and name shaming an undesirable company feels good but I remain skeptical that these actions, in the end, will have lasting, permeating cultural impact. I'd be more than happy to be proven otherwise.
So, what can we actually do?

2022.01.25 19:15 vegryn Morrissey Central - “OPEN LETTER TO JOHNNY MARR.”

This is not a rant or an hysterical bombast. It is a polite and calmly measured request: Would you please stop mentioning my name in your interviews?
Would you please, instead, discuss your own career, your own unstoppable solo achievements and your own music?
If you can, would you please just leave me out of it?
The fact is: you don’t know me. You know nothing of my life, my intentions, my thoughts, my feelings. Yet you talk as if you were my personal psychiatrist with consistent and uninterrupted access to my instincts. We haven’t known each other for 35 years - which is many lifetimes ago. When we met you and I were not successful. We both helped each other become whatever it is we are today. Can you not just leave it at that? Must you persistently, year after year, decade after decade, blame me for everything … from the 2007 Solomon Islands tsunami to the dribble on your grandma’s chin ?
You found me inspirational enough to make music with me for 6 years. If I was, as you claim, such an eyesore monster, where exactly did this leave you? Kidnapped? Mute? Chained? Abducted by cross-eyed extraterrestrials? It was YOU who played guitar on ‘Golden Lights’ - not me.
Yes, we all know that the British press will print anything you say about me as long as it’s cruel and savage. But you’ve done all that. Move on. It’s as if you can’t uncross your own legs without mentioning me. Our period together was many lifetimes ago, and a lot of blood has streamed under the bridge since then. There comes a time when you must take responsibility for your own actions and your own career, with which I wish you good health to enjoy. Just stop using my name as click-bait. I have not ever attacked your solo work or your solo life, and I have openly applauded your genius during the days of ‘Louder than bombs’ and ‘Strangeways, here we come’, yet you have positioned yourself ever-ready as rent-a-quote whenever the press require an ugly slant on something I half-said during the last glacial period as the Colorado River began to carve out the Grand Canyon. Please stop. It is 2022, not 1982.
Morrissey. January 2022.

2022.01.25 19:15 Primary-Vermicelli Advice on strain/consumption method to avoid anxiety spiral?

I’m not new to cannabis but I’ve recently noticed a fun new side effect: crippling anxiety & paranoia! It usually happens when I’ve taken an indica edible (5mg) or used a vape with a hybrid.
Usually what happens is I get super in my head and thinking about how bad of a person I am, that I should be nicer to my mom (??) and worrying that I’m somehow not normal and it just spirals from there.
I’m actually a very normal person, I have a great job, a house, a great partner and 2 awesome kids. But for some reason whenever I take an edible or vape I turn into this anxiety monster. I’ve tried sativa edibles but the same thing happens, and while I usually avoid smoking flower bc it always makes me cough, could that be the missing link here?
I guess I’m asking for advice on the best cannabis strain/type and consumption method to avoid all this in my head anxiety. Any ideas?
